We use Boatwork Assist data to:

  • Provision, operate, and maintain your AI agent(s) and platform account
  • Route messages through connected channels on your behalf
  • Process billing and manage your subscription, including tracking credit usage and overages

We do not sell your conversation data or your customers’ data to third parties. We do not use your conversation data to train AI models for use by other customers.

5.3 Third-Party AI Model Providers

Boatwork Assist routes agent requests through third-party AI model providers, which may include Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), xAI (Grok), Mistral, and others. Message content is transmitted to these providers solely to generate responses. We select providers that offer enterprise-grade data handling and do not use customer data for model training by default. Each provider operates under their own privacy practices, which we recommend reviewing independently.

5.4 Your Customers’ Data (End-User Data)

Your AI agent may collect and process personal information belonging to your customers, leads, and contacts. You are the data controller for this information. You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate authority to process it through our platform and for providing any required disclosures to your customers. Boatwork acts as a data processor with respect to your customers’ data and processes it solely as directed by you and as necessary to operate the platform.

5.5 Data Retention

We retain conversation and agent logs for 12 months by default. Extended retention may be configured within your account settings. Account and subscription data is retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 24 months following termination, unless you request earlier deletion.

5.6 Security

Boatwork Assist data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure in the United States. We implement encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging of administrative actions. Our 99.9% uptime SLA includes active monitoring and incident response.

5.7 Your Rights as a Subscriber

As a Boatwork Assist subscriber, you may at any time:

  • Access and export your account data and conversation logs
  • Correct inaccurate business or contact information
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Disconnect third-party integrations

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@boatwork.co.

5.8 SMS Messaging Data

When your AI agent sends or receives SMS messages through Twilio or other messaging providers:

  • We collect and store phone numbers, message content, delivery status, and timestamps associated with SMS communications
  • This data is used solely to operate your agent’s messaging capabilities, maintain conversation continuity, and provide usage reporting
  • We do not share SMS message content or recipient phone numbers with third parties except as necessary to deliver messages (e.g., Twilio as the carrier network provider) or as required by law
  • Recipients who reply STOP to any message will be immediately opted out and added to a suppression list; no further messages will be sent to that number until they opt back in
  • SMS data is retained consistent with the conversation log retention periods described in Section 5.5
  • Message and data rates may apply to recipients based on their wireless carrier plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5.9 Google API Services — Limited Use Disclosure

When you connect a Google account to Boatwork Assist, your agent accesses Google user data through the Google API Services. The Google scopes Boatwork Assist may request are: read, compose, send, and label/organize Gmail messages (to triage your inbox, draft, and send email on your behalf); read and create Google Calendar events; and create and edit Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive files used in your agent’s work. We request only the scopes needed for the features you enable.

Boatwork Assist’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of Boatwork Assist that you have enabled (email triage, drafting and sending, calendar, and document workflows).
  • We do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties, except as necessary to provide or improve those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it unless we have your affirmative consent for specific messages, it is necessary for security or to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
  • Google user data is stored and processed consistent with the security and retention practices described in Sections 5.5 and 5.6, and you can disconnect a Google account at any time from your agent’s email settings, which revokes Boatwork Assist’s access.
