Channels
An agent can work across several channels. Email and calendar are available everywhere; which messaging channel is available depends on how the agent is hosted (see How Boatwork Assist works).
Email & calendar
Agents connect to Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, and Drive / Docs) or Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Calendar, and OneDrive / SharePoint). With those connections an agent can read, draft, and send email; read and create calendar events; and create and edit documents and spreadsheets. The access behind these connections is delegated and scoped as described in Security & data protection.
Messaging
- iMessage — available for agents hosted on a dedicated Mac.
- WhatsApp — available for agents hosted in the cloud.
Messaging channel availability is tied to the hosting platform, so we help you choose the setup that fits the channels you need.
On every messaging channel, only people you authorize can start a conversation with your agent — an unsolicited message from an unknown number is not acted on (see Agent safeguards & oversight).
A complete record of every conversation
Each agent keeps a live, time-stamped transcript of the conversations it handles — with you and with anyone it contacts on your behalf — viewable from the dashboard. Times are shown in Eastern so the record reads consistently no matter where an agent is hosted.
Web chat
You can always chat with your agent directly from the Boatwork Assist dashboard — useful for setup, testing, and day-to-day requests without involving an external channel.
